A beautiful antique Art Nouveau lavaliere necklace adorned with a fabulous dropper pendant decorated with five ocean blue aquamarines (approx. 0.90ct total) and an array of creamy, white seed pearls.
Aquamarine and pearls are considered treasures of the ocean and were a popular combination, with their soft white and blue colouring complementing each other perfectly, evoking the calm and serenity of the sky and ocean.
The pendant has an ornate, open-work design with milgrain bezel settings and scrolling foliate motifs, all fashioned in 15ct gold including the fine cable chain it hangs from.
The piece dates to the early 1900s and is complete with an antique pendant box with a black velvet interior, made by “James Weir Ltd” of Glasgow.
We recommend you insure for £1,950. We can provide a written Valuation on completion of the sale.
